If you’ve ever had to edit a video that needed some type of user interface animation, whether it’s a phone, a tablet, or a laptop, you know how slow it can be to create those animations while flying through your edit. If you’re used to using Premiere Pro’s Warp Stabilizer, this should be a very handy addition to your FXPX tool kit. It claims to be up to 12 times faster and more accurate than the FCPX built-in stabilizer, so in my opinion, it’s a must-have for any editor. Need a powerful and easy-to-use stabilizer in FCPX? Then look at CoreMelt’s Lock & Load. They make every step of the color grading process easy and unintimidating. Some of the key features in this plugin are the tools like False Colors, Look Transfer Tool, and the Xrite ColorChecker. With its 90 built-in “Hollywood” looks, it’s perfect for first looks and realtime LUTs previews. One of the best color grading plugins around, Cinema Grade is great for both beginners and experts. They offer shortcuts and workarounds for problems that would normally take several hours to address. So, if these nonlinear editing applications are already complicated enough, why should you complicate things even more? Plugins make your life easier. (Was that too nerdy?) To put it plainly, plugins are components added to an application that allow you to do additional things in your edit. Once FCP no longer sees it, whether you decide to actually delete the file or just store it in a different place, is entirely up to you.Plugins are add-on components that expand the capabilities of an application. The key is that once the file is out of the Plug-in folder, FCP no longer tries to install it. Or, you can simply store it in a folder called “Plug-ins I no longer want” (or something similar). Then, go to the Desktop and trash the plug-in you just deleted. If everything checks out OK, quit Final Cut. Then, contact the plug-in developer for help. Quit Final Cut and put the file back where you found it. If you have problems, you probably dragged the wrong file to the Desktop. Next open your project and make sure your project opens OK. This restarts Final Cut, without opening any projects. If you want to be extra safe, start Final Cut Pro while holding down the Shift key. Restart your computer, this time without holding any keys down. Once it is out of the Plug-In folder, Final Cut won’t see it. Library > Application Support > ProApps > SharedA > Plug-Insįind the name of the plug-in you want to remove and drag it to your desktop. Also, because FCP caches a list of your plug-ins as part of your FCP preferences, delete all four FCP preference files. A plug-in will only be in one folder, it will never be in all three.īefore starting, be sure to quit Final Cut Pro. If you can’t find the file you are looking for in one folder, check the others.
